About the role

For this role, we are looking for an ambitious partnerships lead to explosively expand our strategic relationships with AI companies, focusing on data licensing as we build out training marketplace. You are our first full-time partnerships hire, and will be leading the strategy and partnerships development process.

The ideal fit for this role is a highly autonomous, entrepreneurial and deeply mission-driven person with experience in prospecting and closing leads in a startup. You should have deep connections in the AI and media space, capable of driving new business by leveraging their network. You are partnerships-obsessed and love finding unique ways of strategically expanding our business.

Responsibilities

You will report to our co-founders. Your key responsibilities are:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive partnerships strategy to win new AI clients and finding unique positions for our brand beyond this

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including high-profile partnerships and collaborations

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers, to introduce our services to key AI players in the US market

  • Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote the business

  • Negotiating and securing data licensing agreements, contributing to company revenue growth.

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in relevant industries and topics (blockchain, disinformation, deepfakes, generative AI, journalism, insurance, and cybersecurity to name a few)

Qualifications, skills & experience
  • We like to hire on ability, motivation and aptitude rather than only on past experience. Background is important, but it is not enough by itself.

  • What makes you a great fit:

    • Strong network in the AI and media sectors

    • 3+ years startup experience in business development or partnerships, from prospecting to closing

    • Ability to grasp and simplify highly technical concepts

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels

    • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of securing high-value deals

    • Willingness to travel abroad frequently for industry events and conferences

  • What might make you stand out:

    • Experience in related industries (news, journalism and media, blockchain, cybersecurity, generative AI) and a strong network

    • Experience with data licensing or building B2B marketplaces
