Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in backend development to join our growing team. They will be integral to refining our existing products and developing new features. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial-minded, agile and intuitive builder with experience building tools with very little prior art.

Responsibilities

You will report to the co-founder, and may help to lead our engineering team if you have the right experience. Your key responsibilities are:

• Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)

• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system

• Document and maintain software functionality, balancing efficiency with the right amount of quality of the application

• Refine and optimise our existing products, improving speed and seamless integration with manual interventions.

• Developing new services and add-on features

• Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions

• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility

Qualifications, skills & experience

• We like to hire on ability, motivation and aptitude rather than only on past experience. Background is important, but it is not enough by itself.

• What makes you a great fit:

  • 3+ years experience, preferably in a startup environment or small team

  • Strong ownership of project components and ability to work with minimal hand-holding

  • Ability to work on short timelines and pivot quickly

  • Back End focused - experience of working on APIs, databases

  • DevOps - setting up and maintaining scalable cloud services with experience in AWS

  • MI/ML - background understanding, understanding and ability to make use of solutions.

  • Prior experience working in the media industry, bonus points if you have worked with video servers and photo archives.
